Eyes

There is no part of the face that will benefit more from a good night's sleep than the eye area; eyes really are the barometer for the rest of the face. But if a good night's sleep is not forth-coming and you wake up feeling the worse for wear, there are products, such as Dr Hauschka Eye Solace Ampoules and Eyesential, that will give temporary relief and the feeling that your eyes have taken a stimulating shower.

For a daily fix, look at products from Givenchy, La Prairie and Jan Marini, which have really revolutionised the market. Although none of these products will bring long-lasting change to the actual eye area, we do believe that daily use will keep the age process slightly at bay. At the very least your make-up will apply better.

Botox is a solution for those who cannot abide the fact that the wrinkles under their eyes are going to meet their smile lines. A few simple pricks with a needle above the cheekbones freezes those lines from moving further south.

For those of us with suitcases under the eyes there is blepharoplasty - plastic surgery to remove the excess fat that builds up over the years. Dark circles can be helped by injecting hyaluronic acid underneath the cheekbones to raise them closer to the eyes and reduce dark circles - Dr Sebagh developed this technique.

Teeth

When you give your teeth a quick pre-dinner clean, do it twice. It makes all the difference. A visit to the hygienist is the next best thing and, although painful (Trinny requires medication before a visit), it will clean them really well.

Bleaching trays are slightly complicated. They involve taking a mould your teeth and two weeks of wearing a rather unattractive contraption in your mouth at night.

Susannah instead opted for the laser therapy (at a Dentics outlet) - one hour of a sinister-looking contraption holding your mouth open extremely wide. Great results though. After both treatments, avoid teeth-staining food or drink.

If you have developed a rather squit set of teeth over the years, think about having veneers or bonding. In bonding, a plastic resin is applied to teeth and sculpted into shape. Veneers are more costly but longer lasting - an individually shaped porcelain shell is placed over a tooth to improve its colour and shape.

Changing your mouth can be one of the most effective ways of changing your face. Just make sure you avoid a Ross moment!
